Save the date

To help our neighbors better understand where we are in the development process and to discuss the public infrastructure work we have been required to perform, Lyme Properties will be hosting a neighborhood meeting on Monday, May 14, 2012 at 7PM in the community room at the Kilton Library. Much of this meeting will focus on the Crafts Avenue roadway and utility work that must be done before construction at River Park can proceed. This meeting will be open to the public and we especially encourage our Crafts Avenue neighbors to attend.

River Park Zoning Alert!

Apparently, the overwhelming support of the citizens of Lebanon is not enough to deter some members of the City Council from their opposition to the River Park Master Plan.  We discovered this morning that next Wednesday, March 17th, the City Council will vote on a new zoning change that will nullify the results of Amendment # 1.

Why the River Park site in West Lebanon is unique.

My goal is to make River Park the best example of smart growth and sustainable practices in the Upper Valley. Come see for yourself. Lyme will open the site on Saturday afternoons (12 Noon-4:00 PM) starting February 13 until March 6 to allow residents to view the scale model of the River Park Master Plan and the surrounding neighborhood.

Is City Hall listening?

In most communities, zoning is the vehicle to achieve what the citizens want for their neighborhoods and to prohibit activities that are inconsistent with the broader policies of the City. In Lebanon, this has not been accomplished because the current zoning ordinance was enacted prior to the 2006 Master Plan and the 2009 Principles for a Sustainable Community adopted by the City Council. Since 1999, the City has been trying to reconcile municipal policy, the Master Plan, and the Future Land Use Map with the Lebanon Zoning Ordinance which is outdated.
